Teetering along a crumbling walkway over 100 metres high, a group of intrepid climbers carefully inch their way across what has been dubbed the most dangerous path in the world.

And they're not alone. Adrenaline-junkies have been flocking to southern Spain to experience the 110-year-old El Caminito Del Rey before work begins to refurbish it next tear.

Companies have now begun offering unofficial tours after a video of a walker tackling the hair-raising trail went viral on YouTube.

And you don't need to be an experienced climber either, the only requirements are that walkers should be at least twelve years old and have a good head for heights.

The trail, also known as the King's Pathway, was originally built in 1905 for workers to travel between two hydroelectric power plants but was closed-off in 2000 after two walkers fell to their deaths.

It snakes its way along cliff edges high up in El Chorro Gorge, thirty miles from Malaga.

Much of the one-metre-wide walkway is crumbing away with rusting supports, gaping holes, no handrails and sections that have completely fallen down.

A makeshift wire has now been attached to the rock face which walkers and climbers can clip themselves on to in order to have some degree of security - but many still prefer not to use any safety equipment at all.

Work is now due to start on an 8.3 million project to make the pathway safe again and attract more tourists to the area.

It will take three years to re-construct and will see the pathway completely rebuilt with hand rails, protective barriers, lighting and a visitors centre..

One climber on the route last week said: 'It's a shame they're going to fix the path.

'It will sanitise it too much and take the thrill out of it.

'It's free for us to go on right now but I'm sure they'll make us pay to use it in the future.'

The closing ceremony of the Rock On 2 "festival" was officiated by Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Dr James Dawos Mamit.

The Fairy Cave where the closing ceremony was held is one of the best tourists attraction in Kuching Division. Even though I had worked in Bau from Aug to October 1989 (Bau Camp) but during my tenure there I was not aware about the existence of this cave. I only knew about this cave on 24th Sep 2011 . For the closing, I had been detailed by my boss to represent the company.

After about 30 minutes drive from my house in Kuching (Mile 10th), my eldest son and I reached the Fairy Cave at about 5.50pm. There I saw a lot of people, and both sides of the road were full of vehicles parking. Conclusively I really admired the organizer of the event as the event had not only successfully attracted the visitors to this nature tourist attraction but it also help to spur the business activities among the locals, as I could saw few stalls were set up by the road side from the venue of the closing ceremony until to the mouth of fairy cave, selling varieties of goods from food to handicraft. Company has made a correct move when it chipped in a sponsorship to the organizer of the event. When I sat among the JKKK (Jawatankuasa Keselamatan dan Kemajuan Kampung) or the Village Security and Development Committee during the closing ceremony I was proud to be seen there representing my company.

Gunther Von Hagens : Dr Death

Gunther von Hagens (born Gunther Liebchen, 10 January 1945) is a controversial German anatomist who invented the technique for preserving biological tissue specimens called plastination.
Plastination technique, which he invented in 1977 and patented in the following year. Subsequently, he developed the technique further, and founded the Institute of Plastination in Heidelberg in 1993. He has been visiting professor in Dalian, China since 1996, where he runs a plastination center, and also directs a plastination center at the State Medical Academy in Bishkek,Kyrgyzstan. Since 2004 he is also guest professor at New York University College of Dentistry.
The first exhibition of whole bodies was displayed in Japan in 1995. Over the next two years, Von Hagens developed the Body Worlds exhibition, showing whole bodies plastinated in lifelike poses and dissected to show various structures and systems of human anatomy, which has since met with public interest and controversy in more than 50 cities around the world.

ROCK ON 2, Marathon Rock Climbing Festival – sports climbing competition with a festival element

This afternoon I was asked to represent my company in the Press Conference/ soft launching of the Rock On 2 at Pullman Hotel Kuching. Even though the amount sponsored by the company was not that significant but the organizer of the competition somehow had called us to attend the press conference.

The press conference started 3.00pm until 3.45pm and was called by Dato James Dawos Asst Minister of Tourism.

Press Conference and Soft Launching Of Rock On 2 : Marathon Sport Climbing Festival Competition

Marathon Sport Climbing Festival

The competition will be held from 23 (Fri) to 25 (Sun) September, 2011 (3 Days and 2 Nights event). The venue for the events will be at Fairy Cave Climbing area - Batman Wall, Stage Wall, Nepenthes Wall, Zoo Wall and Fairy Cave Wall - all in Bau District, 45 km from Kuching, Sarawak, East Malaysia.
Thank you to the Outdoor Treks and Adventures in collaboration with Climb Asia(Singapore), and the villages of Krokong Village Community Centre for their efforts to organise the event. Special thanks also given to the Ministry of Tourism and Heritage, Sarawak and the Ministry of Social Development and Urbanisation, Sarawak for their supportive roles to ensure the success of the event.
This activity attract rock climbers form around the region such as from Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Sabah and Sarawak.
The objective of the event is to promote a fun, short weekend climbing destination and festival by organize a fun event, not a hard strict climbing competition.

The 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011.

Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned her successor, Leila Lopes of Angola, at the end of this event. Contestants from 89 countries and territories participated in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006.

A Trip to Siniawan Bau to Buy Durian

Durian.....The King of the Fruits

In South East Asia, durian has been revered as the King of Fruits. It is a session fruit. In Sarawak, especially its southern part from Sematan, Biawak until Kuching durian session has been started since mid-August 2011 until now.
Last weekend on Saturday, 10th Sep 2011, my friend the owner of Hornbill-Hornbill and I made a trip to Siniawan not far from Bau to buy durian. The trip was quite successful as both of us managed to buy good durians.
For the benefits of all visitors of 1Malaysia-Photogallery, I would like to share some of the photos taken during the trip.

I bought the best durians from this group of people. According to them, the durians came from the mountain at the background of the picture.

After managed to buy few durians, we left Siniawan rushing as my friend need to fetch his daughter from tuition.

Yoshitomo Nara: Nobody’s Fool New York Exhibition

Yoshitomo Nara is a Japanese artist who was born in 1959. Nara is well known for his depictions of children and animals. Nara’s cute, though often menacing, children and animals are so readily associated with popular culture, particularly manga comics and animation, that viewers may neglect to contemplate his evocative imagery in depth. His popular appeal masks the serious social and personal dimensions of his work—feelings of helplessness and rage, and a sense of isolation in a hyper-networked society.

Despite an apparent connection to manga and animation, Nara cites music, particularly rock and punk, as his greatest source of inspiration. Moods of loneliness and rebellion in his art are often enhanced by hinting at particular musicians and songs. These clues leading to music are explored in this exhibition and help us understand Nara’s internal world. Music is a crucial factor in the development of his signature style and iconographic motifs, and in the emotional significance of his art. The title Nobody’s Fool, chosen by the artist himself, refers to a song by the American singer and songwriter Dan Penn.

As a result, disaster struck the building, cracked roads, and in some areas supply of electricity has been interrupted , gas and water. Not the best game but Spain are deserved winners. Well done, but I do feel a bit sorry for the Dutch

For those who are born before 1986 may not know about the Chernobyl disaster which occurred in 1986.

The April 1986 disaster at the Chernobyla nuclear power had caused few hundreds people died.

And a a result of the disaster, Chernobyl town was abandoned and became a ghost town as shown in the photos below:-

Hanging Swimming Pool Marina Bay Singapore

Marina Bay Sand Casino which cost more than RM 19b was officially opened last Wednesday, 23rd June 2010. One of the most attractive tourist attraction of the building is it hanging pool. The pool which is 150 meter in length (3 times longer than the standard olympic swimming pool ) is located on the top of the three buildings at 340 metres height, at this moment is considered the highest swimming pool in the world.

The swimming pool is opened to the customers who stay in the hotel.
